Gua Sha

A therapy commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years, practiced by many in China. This natural, alternative therapy involves scraping the skin with a massage tool to improve circulation. Small red dots or petechiae will surface on the skin, but usually subside after a few days. It releases unhealthy bodily matter from blood stasis within sore, tired, stiff or injured muscles to stimulate new oxygenated blood flow to the area, promoting metabolic cell repair, regeneration, healing and recovery.

After treatment, please keep the area protected from wind, cold and direct sun until the Sha fades. Patients are also encouraged to rest and drink plenty of water to replenish body fluids and promote the excretion of metabolites after each treatment .  It is recommended that you do not shower for 3 hours after treatment.
