Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy (IASTM & Gua Sha)

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy is an advanced approach to bodywork that enhances the effectiveness of hands-on massage by using specialized tools to address soft tissue restrictions. I offer both IASTM (Graston Technique®) and Gua Sha, selecting the method best suited to your body and goals.

IASTM (Graston Technique®) uses precisely designed stainless-steel instruments to identify and treat areas of scar tissue, fascial restriction, and chronic tension. This technique supports faster recovery by breaking down adhesions, improving circulation, and restoring healthy tissue function. It is especially effective for injury rehabilitation, overuse patterns, and limited mobility.

Gua Sha is a traditional instrument-assisted technique that gently works along muscles and fascial planes to reduce stagnation, improve circulation, and support natural movement. From both Eastern and Western perspectives, it encourages the flow of blood, fluids, and metabolic waste while reducing pain and restriction. Gua Sha is often combined with cupping therapy for a complementary, well-tolerated treatment.
