Cupping and IASTM: Foundational Techniques

I’m often asked if I plan to teach a class or share more of what I do. Honestly, I’ve never felt a strong desire to do so beyond that. I’ve always believed that everyone’s journey is uniquely personal, and I’ve preferred to focus on my own work. However, lately, I’ve been feeling a stronger pull to begin sharing more openly, so I decided to create a one-time opportunity to see how it feels.

Previously, I taught a private class on the basics of cupping and Gua Sha, which I feel is a perfect place to start. I believe in making learning accessible and affordable for everyone, which is why I’ve kept my rates modest and hours low.

My goal with this offering is simply to share, connect, and empower others to incorporate these powerful techniques into their practice. I bring over 20 years of experience in cupping and approximately 5 years in IASTM (including Gua Sha, Graston, and basic skin scraping). This group has been organized specifically for local massage therapists seeking practical, effective methods to enhance their work. The class will include clear lectures on the principles behind cupping, contraindications, and a variety several techniques that complement any massage style—all with plenty of table time for hands-on experience.

I truly enjoy guiding through collaborative learning. There will be group discussions and shared insights to facilitate an enriching experience. My approach is rooted in mutual growth—I believe that as I teach, I also learn. This synergy allows us to explore, connect, and deepen our understanding of these transformative tools together.

This offering is scheduled for September 19, starting at 9:00 AM, and plan for a 6-hour day. The cost is $120, with an early bird rate of $100 if paid before August 19. The minimum number of participants needed to run this class is 6, with a maximum of 12. Please note that there are no refunds, but you are welcome to sell or gift your seat if needed. Your card will be charge within 24 hours of booking unless you make other arrangements, check or venmo (preferred) to secure your space.

What you will need: anything that you are choosing to use suggestion, silicone cups, stationary pump cups and if you like a scraping tool. I will have some tools to use on hand but better when we have our own so we can get started immediately.
